Leeds Conservatoire graduate Poppy Daniels nominated for Jazz FM Award
Trumpeter Poppy Daniels, who studied Jazz with Popular Music at Leeds Conservatoire, has been nominated in the Breakthrough Act of the Year category at the 2026 Jazz FM Awards.
Daniels, who graduated in 2018 when the institution was still named Leeds College of Music, has gone on to establish herself as a prominent figure in the UK jazz scene.
Since leaving Leeds, she has collaborated with artists including Celeste, Jordan Rakei and Arlo Parks, while building a profile as a versatile performer appearing at leading venues in the UK and internationally.
Responding to the nomination, Daniels described it as ‘such an honour’ and thanked Jazz FM for its continued support.
The Jazz FM Awards will return to KOKO in London on Thursday 16 April 2026, celebrating achievement across the jazz sector from emerging talent to internationally recognised artists.
