ACM and RSL Awards announce new progression partnership
ACM and the exam board RSL Awards have announced a new partnership creating a recognised progression route for students with RSL qualifications into selected ACM diploma and degree pathways.
The collaboration creates a recognised progression route for students seeking to continue their creative education and develop careers across music and the wider creative industries. It is designed to strengthen the connection between recognised musical achievement and industry-focused higher education.
Under the partnership, students who achieve Grade 6 or above through RSL’s graded music exams, or who successfully complete an RSL Level 2 or Level 3 Music Practitioners or Creative Music Industries Vocational Qualification, will be eligible to apply to ACM without undertaking an audition.
The arrangement recognises the skills, knowledge, commitment and musical capability demonstrated through RSL qualifications, while providing a more direct route into ACM’s creative community.
ACM said the partnership reflects shared values between the two organisations, including recognising talent, rewarding achievement and creating meaningful opportunities for progression. The collaboration aims to help aspiring musicians and creative professionals build on existing achievement and access the skills, experience and industry connections needed for careers in the creative industries.
The progression route applies to ACM’s two-year Extended Diploma in Performance, Production or Songwriting. It also applies to the Performance, Production and Songwriting pathways within ACM’s BA/BSc (Hons) Creative Industries Futures (Music), and to the MCCI in Creative and Cultural Industries, covering Music and Digital Arts.
The partnership does not guarantee a place at ACM. Eligible students may apply without audition, but all applicants must still meet ACM’s standard entry requirements, including 104 UCAS tariff points, and successfully complete the admissions process.
