UK Music invites Northern Ireland music sector to help shape 2027 manifesto
UK Music is developing a Manifesto for Music for Northern Ireland ahead of the Northern Ireland Assembly elections in May 2027, with music and music education professionals invited to contribute their views.
The music industry umbrella organisation has launched a short survey seeking views from across the sector, with respondents invited to share ideas on how music in Northern Ireland can be supported, developed and promoted in the years ahead.
The manifesto will set out practical policy proposals designed to support the growth of Northern Ireland’s music sector, strengthen its global reputation and develop the next generation of talent. UK Music said it is seeking ‘ambitious, deliverable ideas’ that can drive meaningful change for the industry.
The survey is open until 17 July 2026.
The Northern Ireland Manifesto for Music follows UK Music’s Manifestos for Music in Scotland and Wales, published ahead of elections held on 7 May 2026. Those manifestos each centred on a five-point plan to support economic growth, music tourism, employment and access to high-quality music education.
In England, UK Music has also launched a Local Music Action Charter, providing local authorities with practical steps to support local economies through music.
