ABRSM launches Asia-Pacific piano competition for performers aged 26 and under

ABRSM has announced the launch of the ABRSM Piano Competition Asia Pacific 2026, a new regional competition aimed at celebrating musical progress, performance and development among young pianists.

Open to pianists aged 26 and under, the competition is available to citizens or residents of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. ABRSM says the initiative is designed for performers of all abilities, offering participants the chance to work towards a clear performance goal, receive professional feedback and gain recognition for their musical progress.

All entrants will receive written feedback and a certificate, with awards ranging from Participation to Bronze, Silver and Gold. Selected finalists will also have the opportunity to perform at a live final weekend in Hong Kong in November or December 2026, alongside masterclasses and workshops.

The Round 1 video entry period runs from 29 July to 26 August 2026.
